The C-type wears the blue and white racing colors of Mazda’s Le Mans car of 1989. The front has a wide mouth for air intake, which vents air through the forward-positioned radiator and exits it along the front rim of the cowl The upright fender mirrors are another Group C touch, as are the BBS-style brake-cooling discs on the wheels, the air intakes slotted into the car’s slab sides, the full-width rear wing, exposed race style fuel cap, and quick-release pins that hold the fiberglass body panels shut.
Under the rear deck’s plexiglas bubble is a toy like surprise indicative of the less serious side of the Japanese character: four fake intake trumpets braided hose, and ignition wires, just to give the car a proper high-output look.
