MODEL B

The B-type has forward-hinged doors but it has a pyramid roof without a rearward sweep to the C-pillar. Bulging headlights, a squat rear spoiler, chunky taillights, and a pitbull backend complete the rough and spartan, look Mazda was seeking. The greenhouse area looks like the turret of a small tank and the gray monochromatic exterior takes nothing away from that impression.

The B-type has all the appeal of a beat-up old toy from your boyhood. Of the three this is the least attractive, something like a sawed-off street tough with a scarred face and cauli-flower ears.
